Decathlon launched the web series “Exploring Brazil’s Mountains”, which brings together the experiences of Eliseu Frechou<\/a>, climber and mountaineer; Guta Barbosa<\/a>, trekking practitioner and outdoor enthusiast; and Ca\u00edque Fiali<\/a>, expedition and camping specialist. Throughout the series, they share tips and knowledge for those who want to practice mountain sports safely and confidently.<\/p>\n

The production features six episodes filmed in iconic destinations of Brazilian mountaineering and released weekly on Decathlon’s YouTube and Instagram channels.<\/p>\n

The debut episode, “The Trails of Mountaineering”, introduces the athletes and their journeys. They recall their first experiences in the sport, discuss the physical and psychological challenges of the practice, and share their perspectives on Brazil’s mountaineering scene.<\/p>\n

In the second episode, “Climbing Chapada Diamantina”, Eliseu Frechou visits the cliffs of Chapada Diamantina, showing the climbing challenges in the region and the essential equipment for safe practice.<\/p>\n

“Chapada is a new and very promising place. A great treasure for opening new routes and expanding national mountaineering. The destination attracts me because of the vastness of virgin rock and the incredible places still little explored. In this episode, we also went to Itatim, which has larger walls and offers excellent quality climbing. Along with Chapada, it ends up being a must-visit destination”, says Eliseu.<\/p>\n

Next episodes premiere this month<\/h2>\n

The third episode, “Exploring Antonina: Pico Paran\u00e1”<\/strong>, will be presented by Guta Barbosa, who will show the traverse and the trekking experience in the region.<\/p>\n

Following that, “Exploring the Marins x Itaguar\u00e9 Traverse”<\/strong>, starring Ca\u00edque Fiali, will address the camping experience while crossing the peaks located on the border between S\u00e3o Paulo and Minas Gerais.<\/p>\n

The last two episodes will be hosted by Eliseu Frechou. In “Exploring S\u00e3o Bento do Sapuca\u00ed”<\/strong>, he showcases his “backyard,” sharing his routine as a climber and city resident, as well as the challenges, democratic access, and safety tips for those who want to climb in the region.<\/p>\n

In the final episode, “Exploring Dedo de Deus”<\/strong>, Eliseu shows the challenges and differentials of climbing one of the country’s most emblematic mountains.<\/p>\n

“It is the birthplace of national mountaineering. The climb of Dedo de Deus was first accomplished by a group of Brazilians in 1912. It was the symbol of an unreachable mountain and remains a great challenge, demanding preparation and knowledge,” he explains.<\/p>\n

For Eliseu, the web series presents mountain sports in an accessible and inviting way, showing that they can be practiced safely and that you don’t need to be a superhero to experience these adventures. <\/p>\n

“The series helps a lot in promoting mountaineering. It fulfills very well the role of delivering quality technical information in an inspiring way, to motivate people to go to the mountain the right way, using the correct equipment. <\/p>\n

The experience shared by the athletes and ambassadors also reflects Decathlon’s expertise in the outdoor universe through the Quechua and Simond brands, specialized in trekking, camping, climbing, and mountaineering. <\/p>\n

“We believe that adventure begins long before the trail: in preparation, in knowledge, and in confidence to explore new paths. Our goal, both with the series and with the development of our complete product lines, is to share this mountain culture and help more people experience outdoor activities safely and independently,” comments Jose Etore, director of mountain sports at Decathlon Brasil.<\/p>\n
